I have a Ravh and an Rxh and they both operate the same when braking. If I gently press on the brake pedal, the charge gauge goes to about ¼. If I press a little harder the needle goes to ½ to ¾. If I press a little harder the needle goes to 100. All this pressing is being done gently so I believe the mechanical brakes are not engaged. My question is does the brake pedal act like a rheostat switch (the more you press on it the more energy is given to the motors to slow the vehicle? My second question is at what point of pressing on the pedal does the mechanical brakes engage? I know that hard and quick pressing of the pedal will engage the mechanical brakes, I would just like to know more about when the system gives up and deploys the mechanical brakes.
