You must have had an component replaced like a oil pressure sensor and didn’t have the transmission relearn the high and low shift points

There are 2 gears. High gear and low gear. This transmission does shift.

The successor to this are 4 stage eCVTs in the LS500h or LC500h. 4 gears.

Peter,

I think it is the nature/product of the CVT and not necessarily a defect. Other than this observation, I am happy with the transmission. Wished the car was a bit quicker but hard to fault it while getting 27-30 mpg.

Thank you for taking time and reply,
That elevated my worry a little, I will keep an eye on it since i have it for only a month or so, I am also chasing a slight vibration from wheels, that I decided to replace tires to fix it. Will see what future will bring in matter of reliability.

Techstream and those points are relearnt via a a set of driving pattern on the open road which is documented in the repair manual.
