I'm new around here, recently purchased a 2013 GS450h in liquid platinum with flaxen interior. Came from a 08 GS350 so this is a great upgrade and I'm still learning about all the options. One thing I did notice was that it seems only 2013 GS450h's have the older style shifter without the boot. The 2013 GS350's seem to have the shift boot as do 2014+ GS450h models. Has anyone swapped the shifter out for a newer model with the boot? It looks like it's not a direct bolt on and will require a few parts to accomplish.
Just placed an order for the the OEM boot, ****, and shift panel meant for a 2015 GS450h. Should arrive in a few days. Will post some photos once I get it installed. My existing shift **** is pretty scuffed up and the shift panel has a lot of scratches so it was time to replace anyway.

Thanks!
Awesome. If you could post some pictures, like a mini-DIY of the process, it might help others down the line who do this mod/need to replace parts.

Just an update for others, I have installed the shift panel, boot, and shift **** however the plug is a little different. The new panel has an indicator as to which position you are in. I'm not so worried about that functionality however the illumination doesn't work. I've been comparing the two connectors and am going to use a multimeter to see if I can at least get the illumination working for night driving.
Partially... I've got the Normal/Sport+ illumination to work by using the harness from the previous shift console cover.
I cut the end of the cable for the previous illumination of the gear shifter info with the hopes I can work out which wires will illuminate the new 2015 style.
The 2013 harness only has two cables however the 2015 harness has 10 cables. This is due to the 2015 style showing which gear is selected. I'm not interested in getting that portion to work as it's already shown between the speedo and tach anyway. Just want to get the illumination working hopefully with the previous harness using the power and ground.
Above is a closeup of the 2015 circuit board for illumination of the shifter info. Anyone have any insight on where to get a wiring diagram for this? I'm a little hesitant to try connecting 12V and a ground to try to work it out in case it damages something.
Any help on finding info on the wiring would be appreciated!
So finally found some more time to look at this. Turns out it's fairly easy to wire the illumination for the shifter panel. The two outside connections on the shift panel circuit board control the illumination. These brown (+) and gray (-) cables can be connected to the cables for the 2013 shift panel illumination which are red (+) and black (-).
All completed and fully works aside from the specific illumination for indicating P, R, N, D, S modes.
