Default Nx2018 to 350executive

Is it a good deal if my dealer take from me the 2018 and i take the executive lease 48 month for 900$. Canada. The issue is that i have to wait for 4 months and pay a 1000$ deposit. And if the car will take more than 3 months , they will extend my lease for the time the new one arrives.
the 2018 is leased.

So your going to pay $43,200 ($900 x 48) and $1,000 down, and give them your 2018, and at the end of 48 monthly payment, you'll own nothing?

Sounds like a BAD deal to me.

It may mean you get allocated a new NX sooner as the dealer really wants your 2018. Gets to double end their profit. It might make better financial sense to buy out your 2018 at residual value and sell it yourself for a hefty profit. Put that profit down on the new lease and have lower lease payments.

there was a lot of pushback in the US right now for dealerships that are charging over MSRP. There have been corporate announcements from the major car manufacturers that want to hear about dealerships that are doing this so they can adjust their allocations.
Absolutely remarkable that I was able to buy a new 2021 350 ES of my choice as recently as February 2021 (just 1.5 years ago) for 12% ($5,500) OFF MSRP, including a generous Lexus rebate (remember what rebates were?)! I guess it's all in the timing! What a crazy world!

I bought my 2017 ES350 Base in Aug'2017. $5.2K off MSRP + $3K rebate or 0% interest (my choice). Took the $3K rebate as I always pay cash anyway.
Now on the waiting list on a NX350h for my wife, MSRP + $799 of dealer add on.......oh well, you win some and you lose some.

Yeah my son will be getting his license soon. He will be getting his mom's old 08 RX350 AWD,150K miles, still going strong. Otherwise I would wait for another couple of years.
At least I don't have to go out and buy a 4 year old 100K miles Honda Civic at $20K.........
