Default NX 350h 18” tire psi questions.

Noticed dealer set the psi in all 4 tires at 37. Of course minimal driving they went to .39, and as warmer weather approaches most likely into the 40+ psi range.
MPG has been great although tires a bit rough. Not sure if anyone in similar situation, lowered psi to 33. Is ride any better and does mpg suffer.
sorry if this has been asked in past but couldn’t find anything.
thanks

PSI should be 33. These cars are shipped with the tires over inflated so as they don't get a flat spot during transit. The dealer is supposed to lower the psi during the pre inspection but many forget including my dealer.

The higher the PSI, the less resistance which results in higher fuel economy. It doesn't make a huge difference. You'll feel the harsher ride more than you'll notice the drop in mpg.

Realize a harsher ride by lowering psi to 33?

Meant that you'll feel the harsher ride by increasing pressure for better mpg compared to what you get out of it.

Any time a tire is driven on more that a mile and not sitting for more than 3 hours it is considered hot and the recommendation is +4 PSI over the oem cold pressure listed on the door jam. Some service spots will automatically go 4 psi over the door jam to compensate. Just a general tire rule of thumb but obviously the pressure will fluctuate depending how hot the tire is.

Sticker on the door states cold at 33. We like a little firmer ride.

Cold fill to 36 so when the tires warm up it’s at about 39.

The tires on the N X are most likely filled with nitrogen and the pressure will not vary very much at all. I set mine to 33 cold and during driving they are generally around 35 to 36
