Hello,
I have 2006 lexus GS450h
I believe The 12 volt battery is dead, when I jump start the car. The battery dies again after shutting off the car. I have looked on the forums and have seen some replacements but am unable to find them in Canada. Would the below battery's work on my car?
OPTIMA YELLOWTOP 9040-218 Group Size 35 Dual Purpose AGM Battery, 620 CCA
https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/o...-0100021p.html
MOTOMASTER ELIMINATOR AGM Group Size 35/85 Battery, 640 CCA
https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/m...-0103520p.html
I don't believe my current battery is AGM, the temp sensor and hose are not connected neither. Can I just swap with a regular battery like the one it already has? Car was working fine until I had a problem where the car engine would go slow and stop working going above 50 KM/H, had it sitting for a couple months. Going to take to a mechanic next week so hoping to get the battery problem fixed before then.
Thanks for the help in advance

From what I can understand, pretty much nothing fits in the default battery carrier except the default battery, however many people do modify the base of the battery carrier to accept virtually any size battery.
An AGM battery can be tipped and slosh around under higher G-forces without risk of leaking. Since the battery lives in the trunk, where it could theoretically leak on stuff, they had equipped an AGM battery from the factory, but it's up to you whether or not you deem it necessary.
Personally, I had picked up an AGM 24F battery from Costco - it's close in size to the default battery, but does not fit perfectly. I thought about getting a regular flooded 24F and saving the $50 difference, and honestly probably would have been fine. It doesn't fit perfectly in the battery tray but it's really close. Might have to modify the tray a little to get it to fit perfectly. However, the top clamp fits it extremely well.
Best of luck

It's more about the AH of the battery not the CCA as Ur not starting the engine off it . If I remember right the original battery is 60 AH so try to replace it with the same as the fuel economy will drop if u use the wrong one because the12 charge profile is writen for a 60AH agm battery . I used one of these https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/281192838693
