I'm getting a recall notice in the mail today. I googled what the recall is for. From what I read it's possibly a serious issue.The problem is structural, According to the story. It involves the possibility that a shock absorber mounting bracket could pull away from the frame. It will be interesting to see what the fix will be.

Depends if your car needs it or not. There were technically 2 recalls since the NX was released. Mine checked out fine for one and all they did was take a picture of the part and sent it to Lexus corporate. The second recall concerns the VSC not resetting itself on some cars after turning off the engine. A software update was the solution, which takes all of 30 minutes of waiting at the dealership.

Can we trust the health alerts part of the phone app to tell us about these recalls?

I was alerted on my app when news of it first broke out. If you don't have that alert, I wouldn't worry too much.
