I definitely will be adding a trickle charger for longer dormant periods of non driving..

Instead of bandaiding with trickle charger why not find the source of your battery drain and eliminate it. It sounds almost like you dash camera was connected incorrectly even if you want motion sensing activation.

There is no indication in the user's manual specs about the 12V battery, it does not even say that it's an AGM and does not show what the Amp rating for that battery is...

Can you tell us what after market 12v battery you got (brand, type, Amps)?

Thanks a lot. I had not found that thread when I did a search on this forum, I must not have used the proper keywords... That totally answers my question!

I just installed a trickle charger (Noco Genius2D) and even though the battery was charged to 100% a week ago, it was only around 50% today... I drive 99% on electric and mainly city driving less than 40km/day. I did not put the car in ACC mode at any time during that week. I am going to get the battery status checked at the dealership in a few days.

I have the same NX405h+, my 12V battery was dead on March 2024 and bought to Lexus DEALER for replacement with new 12V Battery...... Two months later 5/15, it is the same issue 12V drain out and dead. I just took it back to dealership today for further investigation ..... Most likely, it is design issue not because of battery or not driving long distance. Hold on for further update.
