Considering a 2015 - 2018 300h. I am not familiar with the technology and was wondering what the battery replacement cost is, if it is possible to recondition the battery, and if you would even recommend purchasing a car this old with hybrid tech. Thanks

We conventionally think of Lead Acid 12v batteries when concerned with battery life.
Chemically active, most eat themselves to death in 4 to 7 years.
Lexus/Toyota Hybrids have a small Lead Acid battery to stabilize the voltage for the
lights, wipers, Nav/Radio components and it will inevitably fail in that time frame.
The 288v, 100+ lb. Traction Battery has been a Nickel-Metal Hydride (NI-MH) composition
and until 2019 enjoyed an 8 year/ 100K mile warrantee. Lexus upped the battery warrantee
(but not all hybrid components) to 10 years/ 150k miles in 2020. The battery is
likely to outlive the car. More recently Toyota has begun switching to Lithium-Ion (LI-ION) batteries
which have greater energy density but somewhat more sensitivity to ambient temperature.

I agree with mcome, the traction battery will outlast the vehicle. However, there are options to replace the failed components. It is the least of your worries, which for an ES300H, are very minimal. It is an extremely reliable car.

The larger 288v Traction Battery may cost thousands of dollars.
The small 12v Lead Acid battery for a 2013 - 2018 ES 300h costs about $350.
