Maintenance schedule for the NX350h

First oil change at 1400 miles--- glad I did
I performed a basic oil and filter change on my 2024 NX 350h today after 1400 miles. Easy process. A priority for me was installing a magnetic tipped drain plug. Sure enough, in the old oil was a surprising number (maybe 10 or so) of metal flakes, the largest being about 2mm. I will change the oil again in about another 2K miles. I suspect I'll find more flakes, but this time they'll be attached to the drain plug!
PS: I'm loving this car more and more each day

I performed another oil change on my NX 350h at 3,250 miles. Previously installed magnetic drain plug showed only slight traces of metal and I saw no "junk" chunks as I did with the initial oil change. I see now that Tundra pickups are being recalled for problems attributed to "machining debris" left in new engines. Problem supposedly applies to Lexus LX as well.
