Hi all,

I have a narrow garage so the driver side view mirror slightly got nicked on the edge. Does anyone know the part number of that matte plastic piece that surrounds the mirror? The car is only 3 weeks old, so we prefer to get it fixed. Also, is that surround piece something we can do ourselves? I have changed mirror caps before, this piece seems like it wraps around to the lower back of the mirror.

Hopefully it is a piece that is sold separately Unfortunately replacement parts for mirrors are sometimes not sold separately and depending on what is damaged you have need to get a whole new mirror, which depending on the options on your car could cost you upwards of $1200. Good luck!

I also wasn't sure what exact part you were referring too so I was hesitant in adding anything too substantial to this topic. If you are referring to the side mirror cover, i.e. the plastic cover that is colour-coded to the car's exterior colour (except for the F Sport versions where it is painted black), then I may be able to help you as I have some experience in sourcing and fitting this part.

I to have a narrow garage, wife caught drivers side mirror, no exterior damage, but mirror will not fold, could be a damaged gear inside, any ideas??
