Default Question on Storing my IS for a month....

Hey guys....had a major question....

Next week I'm going out of the country for a month and my IS is gonna be sitting in my garage the entire time....are there any precautions i need to take in order to properly store vehcle for that long of a time period?

Should I have my friend turn it on weekly and run it for a few minutes??

Thanks in advance!

*edit* I did a search and came up with car storage for 4 or 5 months....but nothing for a month or less....

yeah it should be fine. if you are really that inclined, put it in garage, jack up the car and put the whole car on stands, open up a little bit of the windows (so normal air can get in

Cover it with a car cover if you can so you don't have a nice thick layer of dust on the car when you get back.

Unfortunately, I don't have a car cover......that reminds me tho....what do you guys think of those California Car Dusters?? Do they scratch the paint or are they pretty good for in between washes??

If you wax, they will put wipe marks in the wax, makes it look like swirls. I don't think this would be a problem with Zaino though. Also, there is ol in the duster, might smudge on the paint a bit. I use one though, it's alright, on red, you should have even less worry

as long as you let the duster sit for however long the instructions say, it should be ok. shake it vigorously to get rid of that streaking stuff.

never use the duster if your car is dirty (even a tiny bit).....this will cause scratches. only use it when it's dusty

The Original California Car Dusters are great (wood handle one). Don't use/buy the cheap plastic handled ones you find at Target or Wal Mart. As the directions say, let it sit out for 2 days before use so the rest of the paraffin wax can air out on the fibers. And yes, only use it on dusty surfaces...not dirt. I've been using the original wood handle ones for 11 years now.
