I got my car tuesday. Black with black leather interior. 2004 IS300 Sportdesign, e-shift, It's got the 17 inch 11 spoke gunmetal color rims, and all the emblems are black, Plus the tailights are smoked. Pretty sweet i've had fun so far. Also has some kind of diiferent exhaust tip.

congrats on the car.

no idea how many they make, but definitely not like they only make 400 or so. it's more like a time period and in the 03 SD i think they made quite a few of them

Congragulations on your new wheels. Don't be too hard on either the accelerator or the brakes for the first 1000 miles or so, break it in properly, and it should last you a long time with proper care.
And GOOD LUCK with your black Darth Vader special in that Florida sun.....you're the guy from Jacksonville, right? I'd cover it up if I was going to park outside.

Ya that's me from jacksonville. Im going pretty easy on the accelerator but it's really tempting i've had to hit it a few times. Just a couple nice little punches hear and there. I've always heard it's good to vary your rpm range when breaking in the engine or tranny.

Yes...vary the engine speed. That will help the rings seat properly and help keep it from using oil later on.
Once you get to about 1000 miles or so the engine should be fairly well broken-in, and then you can redline the tach if you want to....and, like I mentioned earlier...give it an oil and filter change.
In Florida most of the time, you won't have a really cold engine, of course, but for the break-in period it still is a good idea to keep RPM down .
To some extent I envy you guys in the Sun Belt down there......you don't have to put up with the damage and potholes on the roads that winter and heavy traffic causes.....but even our roads here in Northern Virginia are much better than the awful ones in Ohio, Michigan, and elsewhere in the Great Lakes Snow Belt. Car and Driver and Automobile Magazine are both centered in Ann Arbor, MI, and constantly complain about that.
