Need Help/advice (slow is300)
I went to the dyno/tuner shop and after dynoing the car at 135 rwhp and 136 rwtq, with HP header/ypipe and rest was stock, I was obviously very dissapointed. That was about a month and a half ago or so. The tuner told me that I should take it to lexus and have them check it out. So, I took off the aftermarket header/ypipe and put everything stock back on and took it to lexus. They had the manifold replaced and the bank 1 oxigen sensor 1 replaced as well. (He said that the sensor was running a bit slow and there was a leak in the stock manifold or something like that). It made the car sound stock again, which was a good thing. I may be missing a gasket between the ypipe and bpipe but everything else should be fine.
I went to the drag strip yesterday (Friday, April 2/04) and my time was dissapointing as well. I got 17.135 or something like that as my best run. I did 4 runs and all were pretty much in that 17.1-17.3 range (according to other ISs its suppose to be mid-high 15s). My car feels like it is barely accelerating especially around 4,000 rpm. If I lock it in M mode and put it in 2nd (driving on the street) and use about 33% of the throttle it accelerates fine untill 4,000rpm and than it feels like the car doesnt want to go as fast and kinda pulls back a bit and that continues till around 5,000 or so and than picks up a bit better afterwards.
The 0-60mph is around 9.8+ seconds (timed it with my own timer, but it cant be that far off)
Another thing, when I rev (WOT) the car in "N" or in "P" it would pause at 4,000rpm and than shoot up quick to the redline.
My tuner told me that I should get the car figured out and fixed before I put on the S/C because it may make everythint even worse. He also suggested to replace the Fuel Filer, but when I asked toyota about the fuel filter they said that this car only has one and its in the gas tank and that it doesnt need to be replaced..???
I also cleaned the MAF sensor, and the air filter is in good condition, and I am running stock 17" rims.
Any suggestions ???
PS: I feel very discouraged and pissed off about the car right now, almost to the point that I want to sell the F***ing thing and buy another IS. (I cant really afford to do that though)

They found a leak in the manifold and they replaced it with a new one. So, now it sounds pretty much stock. It may have a slight leak in the header/ypipe joint and/or ypipe/bpipe joint. Because the stock gaskets may have been destroyed (rust).
