3 Hot Cars
I started a thread "IS300 vs G35" and there was much discussion on both ends and to be honest I'm adding an additional car. 350Z test drove it a week ago and WOW that is a sports car! I punched it and it responded, got on the freeway doing 80 and still had a gear to go! I would not get rid of my IS300 but this Z really got me thinking.
What do you guys think IS300 vs G35 vs 350Z? why?
P.S. They all are nice cars.

If I were in the market for a Nissan made coupe, i'd definitely go with the 2+2 G35. I'm not really a fan of the 350Z styling...neither am I with the rear of the G35, but for all around grand touring, the G35 would be the way to go. I could have gone with a G35 when I was shopping for my IS300 but i'm a Toyota loyalist.

I will say it time and time again. I drome them when I bought my IS, I drove them when I bought my Murano, and I drove them when I bought my 325Ci, I know the salesmen hate me, but I just can't feel it. The IS is in another league when you sit in and drive. It might be slower, but that is it.

Commentary on quote above. You have to compare cars that are in the same class ISLEXUS300. The is300 vs. the g35 coupe is fine, but the 350z is in its field. It's a 2 door roadster, not a luxury sedan. I dunno, maybe compare the IS300 to the Benz C320 or Acura TL. Hey, shouldn't your name be ISLEXUS430?

IS300 vs G35 vs 350Z
The 350Z is basically the same car as the G35 coupe. It's built on the same platform with virtually the same body shell. The G35 coupe has slightly softer suspension and tires, slightly lower horsepower rating, (280 vs 287) a little more sound insulation, a semi-rear seat, a different center dash, and ( I think ) better-looking taillights. 350Z's have sold for over list due to demand, so you could probably get a G35 coupe for less money even though it is a more expensive car. I agree with the earlier posters...you can't compare the IS300 directly to either the G35 coupe or the 350Z...they are two different classes.
In comparing the IS300 to the G35 sedan, the IS300 has the advantages or better fit-and-finish, a higher-quality interior (even with the hard-plastic upper dash), a 4-door hatchback version for utility (SportCross), a smoother in-line engine that is also easier to work on, and the good Lexus resale value.
The G35 sedan has the advantages of somewhat more HP / torque, an All-Wheel-Drive option, much better-designed transmission controls, instruments that tilt with the steering column for visibility, and more room inside...especially the back seat.
