Hey there, and welcome to CL!

I haven't actually seen an IS with those particular rims, though they were a fav of mine before I got the rims I have.

As for which color to go for, I would go with either the silver or a black rim with a polished lip since you have a black IS. Graphite would look ok I guess, but black on black looks oh so good! And the contrast of black with silver looks great too. But between the two my fav is black on black wheels with a polished lip. My friend Sean has custom black painted 19" Volk Racing wheels on his black IS. TOTAL SWEETNESS.

As far as size, it just depends on what you like best really. Either/or, looks really good. I have 19s on mine for instance, which really wasn't what I was going for at first but after seeing them and trying them on my car I fell in love. So really it just depends on what you like really.

Well actually yeah, you could cut your tires pretty easy because they won't be very thick and you can also bend a rim. So I would suggest that if you live in a area where roads are crappy to not even think about it. That could really happen with any wheels to be honest but it's worse for larger wheels because you can only get a certain thickness to the tire before it becomes a real pain in the rear with your spedometer, and odometer being off. It depends a lot on your driving habits too. If you run off the road alot, yeah your gonna mess something up.

As far as altering anything to get them to fit, you won't have to worry about that unless your car is really low(I would imagine although mine isn't lowered that much so I don't know), or you have wide wheels.

I hope I made some sense here, and hope that helps!

18's or 19's they can pop with both. My bro has 18's on his Honda and he hit a pot hole and cracked 2 rims. My friend has 19's on his IS300 and has no problems. 18's or 19's your just going to have to drive a little careful and watchout for pot holes! 19's fit perfect, I've seen a picture of a guy fitting dubs on his IS300!!!!

Default wheels

Hey, don't bigger wheels make the car slower? More weight=more energy to spin=less power. If i were to get new wheels i'd stick with racing 17's so they're light. Is that logic correct? Thanks.

Eh, well more weight no. Depends on what you get really. Mine are 2lbs lighter EACH then the stock 17s. I saved 8lbs by switching to my 19s. But they are a bigger diameter so there is more surface space to spin. So that may make it a TAD slower but not by a whole lot. At least I haven't noticed anyway. Now if you get 19in chromes or something, YEAH you're gonna be rolling at the speed of smell.
