Default Fender Flares... love em or hate me.

Just wonder how everyone else feels about Fender Flares....

Pick one of the following:

1) Wald flares are best
2) Illusion flares are best
3) Hate em
4) Dun care for

How many are for:

1) Custom molded like ADS Mobile IS3
2) Double sided tape like PLP Mike IS3
3) Tap holes and throw on some screws like Oscar's Gold IS3
4) Or, I still dun care much for...

Thanks in advance.

personally i hate all the fender flares i see on is3 so far

and if i have to do it, do it the right way, REALLy cut the fender and flare it out, so you can put wider wheels.

I got me some fender flares (R-Spec Illusion). Haven't installed them, but I sure do like em on the IS. Flares give the IS a squattier stance and a more muscular look IMO. Can't wait to put mine on my SportX!!

I love them....when I had them....

Mold them on, don't just bolt them...and use Wald.

Mr. MarK:

What a beauty that IS was.

Congrats on your WIN @ SEMA with the Legend.

Just another in your stable of fine cars.

I think they look hot. But i'm not sure if I would want them for a daily driver.
The pics below from ProLex Perfomance's IS300 with R-Spec flares.

I agree with you there. I like the R-Spec fender flares, but really only get them to fit wider wheels. If money permits in the future I'd like to try to fit 265+ tires in the rear of my IS300.

I agree with you guys.... use flares to fit wider wheels... thats for sure. How much are the R-specs?

Mr.Mark = how's your custom wide body IS3 coming...? Let us know the progress.

I believe the R-Spec flares are somewhat difficult to get and they are pricey... around $600-700. Don't quote me on that, but that's what I've heard. is300soon (David), the owner of Tunedparts.com can probably help you get them. irv_usc has been waiting on a quote from him, might as well add yourself to the list: http://www.tunedparts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1386 .

That'd be sweet to put 10" wide wheels in the back. Not sure if it's necessary, but sweet none the less. And if you do it, let me know where you get the work done.

That IS is one of my favorites as well. I love the WIN racing kit too.
What kind of power are you putting down to require 295s?

That's true, but I'm not putting down the amount of power that would require that much rubber. I guess it doesn't hurt though.
