Default SportCross Front End Mask (PICs)

put on the upper front end mask today to see how it looks. the upper front end mask is very easy to install which is great for daily use and local driving. four hooks into holes under the hood. the installation only takes under a minute. i did not try the bottom mask yet because i was in a rush after my car wash. did not have enough time to install the bottom mask.

i am very pleased with the result. the mask on black car looks pretty good.

Oh yeah. Also let the mask sit in the sun for a while so it wont be so hard to install/stretch for the first time.

thanks for the tips guys.

the directions that came with the mask (10 pages or something with pictures) mentioned letting the mask bask in the sun for a bit before installing.

the fender hooks for the bottom mask was a pain to install i thought since it was hard to see the holes and it was tough to get a screw driver in there even with the wheels turn all way away from it.

besides that, it's pretty cool. most likely, i won't be using the mask all that often especially the bottom mask. the top mask is not that demanding to take off for car washes or rain. i wash my car about once a week. once in a while, i do get lazy and go about two weeks before washing my car. but i think that should be short enough intervals for mask cleaning assuming no rain.

Default For the mask?

Is it required to always take off the mask for every car wash and when it rains? Is that just let the underside dry?

How much do they have the full mask for at carson toyota?

sent you a PM with the price.

yeah, everyone including the manufacturers recommends taking the mask OFF when it rains and for car washes. the moisture and water that get trapped under the mask's linen underside will eventually "FADE" the paint it is covering.

i think this is the same issue that many XM antenna causes. the water gets trapped under the antenna and eats the paint away so to speak eventually. new XM antenna are starting to have small leg paddings with more powerful magnets so no water can be trapped under it. it sort of creates that cushion effect for the water to run/flow underneath. since i don't have one of those, i take my antenna off after washing my car and apply Z6 to the area it sat and dry the antenna base before sticking it back just in case.

it is also recommended to clean the underside of the mask often. the dirt that may be trapped on it could cause scratches when putting on and taking off the mask.

so this is the main reason i only put on the top mask for now since it's easy to install and remove for cleaning reasons.

Yes that would be smart to do it. It's not good to let the water dry up while the mask is on the car. Ask for Bobby at Carson and he'll give you a price. Tell him I sent you and that' you're from ClubLexus. He'll take care of ya.
