Tein Flex w/EDFC.

Sway bars, strut tower bars, underbraces.

That's a good budget for building a great handling car.

wow $3000 budget eh? IMO, you should start off with a set of coilovers

like someone else stated, a favorite seems to be the tein flex coilovers with EDFC (which will run you maybe $1500-1600ish for parts alone? you'll have to check around. figure another $200ish for install and alignment). the cool thing is the EDFC option allows you to adjust your settings without even physically touching your setup! so that leaves you with a little over $1000. or you could go with other coilovers, if you want, like the HKS Hipermax II, JIC or Zeal. some of those options are more costly though. you'll probably want some sways as well. there are plenty of options for you. strut bar, underbody braces, trunk brace, etc. it just depends on what you want.

damn, 3k for suspension?! that's a lot of money for suspension

imho, tein flex, awesome setup, around 1400
daizen sways - 500
all the toms or cusco braces up and down - around 1k i suppose

done

if i had 3k to drop on suspension, i would definitely not get tein's. LOL

start off with some nice HKS hipermax II's or endless ZEAL function b6 dampers..

then your requisite sways, strut tower bars, chassis braces, etcetcetc

depends on what you're trying to get? the ultimate handling machine that will suck on normal roads, or something that remains comfortable.
