I went to Willow Springs this weekend. It was so much fun! I was very happy with he way my car handled. I got my car up to 110mph. I was taking turn #8 at 103mph! I know that I could go even faster but I didnt want to push it too hard considering this was my first track experience. You can only pass people on the two straight aways. Some times it was frustrating because there were cars with lots of horsepower like vipers or corvettes and I would be riding there *** through the corners because I was taking them much faster... but you cant pass in the corners. Then on the straight away those cars would bone out on me so I couldnt pass them. Then on the next set of corners I would be right on their *** waiting for them to go faster! I had my friend who is in the race class drive my car around the track for a few laps and he was very impressed with my suspension. He drove my car VERY fast around the course. And he was taking corners really hard and fast. I was a little scared sitting passenger when he was driving like that but it was awesome! You have a lot of track time too. Over two day I had 170 min of driving time!

All I know is that I have a new addiction. I can't wait to go again! I had way too much fun for it to be legal!

Here is a bunch of pics.

This one was from the track photographer. It almost looks like my car is standing still because the film is so fast. Look at my wheels. I was taking a corner there though..

Another one of me

Here is a shot of Young

This was either K&N's car or was sponsored by.. but it was by far the fastest car there. It was in the race class and almost lapped second place!

What tire/wheel combo are you using? Also, where is the track located? I might take some shots there if I get a chance.

Nice job on keeping up with the big guys...too bad they wouldn't let you pass on the turns though. That would have been fun!

I was using my 5 zigen gt8's with my toyo t1-s's. Next time I will be armed with some slicks. My tires handled very good though. The track is located about 1 hour NE of LA.

If your in the race group you can pass in the turns.. but there is a much better chance of someone hitting your car and I want to come back in one piece.

Thumbs up Nice pics

Black IS,

Looks like you had fun. I drive at these events in NorCal, but has not seen another Lexus. I bet you were the only Lexi there. I tried to get tne NorCal group going once, but no one was interested. They like street racing more.

How did you brakes survive?

We should hook up and perhaps do Buttonwillow sometime, halfway in between.

Anyways, hope to met you at the May 19th meet down south.

I plan on going to Buttonwillow next. I think there is a Time Trial in June. That would be cool if there was another Lexus there. My brakes actually did very good. I was getting on them very hard and I could definitly smell them but they didnt fade at all. I'll see you at the meet for sure. Its only 10 minutes from my house

Great pics, sounds like you had a hell of a time! How much did it cost you? What were some of the rules you had to obey?

It costs me $250.00 but that was with the school. Next time I will just do time trials and that will cost only $185.
At willow springs you were only allowed to pass people on the two long straights. That was the only big rule. Obviously no contact. If you get into the race group you can pass whereever you want. I want to get in that group but not with my new car.... much better chance of having someone make contact with you when you are passing or getting passed on the corners.
