I feel like the single-disc players are more durable; and by constantly changing out 1 disc in a 6-disc changer, I feel I'm overworking this thing that has had to be replaced too many times in my cars (IMO)

umm, not really, i just stick the disc in and that's it.

but i do try to keep my interior as clean as possible -- i hate dust. and every time before i stick in the cd i make sure there is no dust (or try to avoid them)

Aside from you I have heard others having problems, but truthfully I haven't had any problems with ours yet. I'm with you though, I really don't need much more than a 6 disk changer. Ihave the old 10 disc changer in my SC4 and I hardly get through all of them.

I've had great luck with my IS' and RX330's 6 Disc In Dash.I have almost 48,000 miles on my 18.5 month 2004 IS and constantly use my CD player every single day.

My family has owned 8 Lexuses, including ones we've ran up past 100,000 miles, all which have had the 6CD in the dash, and we haven't replaced or even fixed one yet.

Default Don't put any labels on your burned CD's folks...

or it will gum up the works. Most people don't make their own labels yet I've seen quite a few stuck in the Fujitusu-10 unit in the IS300. I haven't seen any problems in the RX330. I actually liked the CD cartridge in the glovebox because I could change to another cartridge and swap six CD's at once. I am now out of date and the ability to play MP3 files is now more important to those paying 99 cents a song or whatever on their IPODs.

yup, the label is a killer for sure, amazing how much that "thickness" add to the problem

Don't forget, the IS will also have an optional 6-disc DVD changer.... imagine all the mp3s you could put on 6 of those bad boys.

But the cool thing for me is the ipod integration, since i just bought an ipod
