Aloha everyone,

Pardon my question if you think its dumb. Does the full l-tuned kit void my warranties? I really want the kit. Does anyone know where I can get it? Thanks a lot.

If it is L-tuned, call Steve (aka SupraTRD) at Carson Toyota in LA. He can get stuff for great prices, and a lot of clublexus members buy stuff from him, nice guy too!

If you have them installed by the dealer then it does NOT void your warranty. If you go outside the dealer then it can.

another quick question. Is the l-sportline kit different than the l-tuned kit and will this void my warranty?

NO, these are two different kits. The l-tuned is not available yet, and wont be until close to the release of the 2002 models. The lsportline is out and I have it, one or two others have it on the is300.net site. As for the warranty, what are you talking about? The paint? If it did void the warranty then the place you got it painted should give you a lifetime warranty anyways. I don't forsee it voiding any warranties.

Default L-Tuned and Warranty

Here's how it works.

Yes, if you have L-Sportline parts installed it should be warranted by L-Sportline and the installing dealer. But, if a related suspension part fails you may have a problem with the warranty coverage on the Lexus part because you installed a non-Lexus suspension component.

If you have L-Tuned components installed by a Lexus dealer they will carry the same warranty as the rest of the original suspension.

Further, if any related suspension part fails Lexus will honor its warranty. There's no question of an unauthorized modification. Thus, the dealer can't use the "a non-Lexus part caused the problem with the warranted part so the warranty won't be honored for that part" excuse -- because you haven't used any non-Lexus parts AND you had them installed by the dealer.
