Default top speed governor?

Hi,

I'm curious if there is a top speed governor on the is300 (2005)??? I've had it up to 121 mph but it seems like it's just topped. I'm aware of wind drag and hot that can be detrimental but the engine seems to be holding back.

Anyone?

The governor is quoted from Lexus as 143 mph. Many people have reached this speed, and have documented it. Maybe you need more road

thanks guys

eh, i think i am just "wussing" out. I got it up to 132mph before i shut it down due to cops and traffic. I guess after riding 4 bangers with a top speed of 100mph, 120mph was a little scary.

so new top speed for me is 132. i'll get 140 sooner or later when my cojones drop.

Just remember from physics 0.5•m•vi2 = F•d. Loose control at 162, and you're dead. I would never go over 120 unless on a track and with proper tires. It would be irresponsible to do that on public roads. Endanger yourself, but not others on the road with you.

Ive Reached 145 On a Cool Night. And as for Driving 162 on a track and lose Control you would still die but under a controlled enviroment LMAO same equation.

I hit somewhere upwards of 145 in my GSX Eclipse back in the day...
I had it riding very low the the ground with a nice wide stance and fat tires...
Perfect for high speeds and hugging corners...

But my IS300 is very narrow and long, I don't really trust it going fast
The fastest I have been in my IS was 110 and i was getting scared
Even though my car is slammed and has nice tires on it, i'm still scared...

Driving my girl's 09 audi A4 2.0T quattro I have hit 110 and didnt even realize it.
I just don't trust my IS300 I guess...

The fastest I've hit was 155 mph on my BPU+ Supra. Car felt smoother at that speed then 65-70 MPH, that's how you can tell a car is made to go fast. I've hit 146 MPH in my 350Z back when I had it and I was ****ting bricks every little bump on the freeway would spin out the back tires and that when I let off the gas. I haven't seen what the IS can do but once I feel more comfortable with the IS I will gradually increase my max speed with the car.

ive personally had my IS about 130-135 and then let off because i was going around a right curve, but i fully trusted my car and the tires. it felt good at 135 to be honest, nice and smooth. i even had 2 of my friends with me at the time.
