According to the TRD page, and the Kazuma Camry Super Charger application, it boosts up 70 HP ! So is it possible will have acces to that same level ? I know there have been posts, regarding the final Super Charger HP increases with conservative output levels of 25-35 HP increases. But 70 HP !! That would add an interesting twist to TL-S confrontations ? 215 + 70....285 HP ! I know, I doubt will see that power output, but if so....look out ! TL-S and CL-S

Furthermore...$4,000 for 70 HP, that's I think about $57 bucks for each horsey added....I guess that's pretty good

Default Pontiac's supercharged GTP

The 3.8 liter Grand Prix GT is 200 hp, when they ad the Eaton supercharger to the GTP it goes up to 235 hp. Many of the guys put underdrive pulleys on the stock setup and get about 15 hp more if I remember right.

You could research it here:

FWIW, I was at Lexus of Westminster yesterday getting my TRAC/ECU update done and Steve from Service mentioned the TRD SC and said it would be about a 50hp gain.

Supercharging, turbocharging and even nitrous work by increasing the air/fuel mixture the engine "breathes". With turbos and superchargers this increase flow is generally measured with a boost guage and pounds/square inch (psi). Engines that run on the atmospheric pressure only (naturally aspirated) have the available pressure of about 15psi at sea level (less as you go up in altitude). To get a GENERAL estimate of power increase first take the power the engine makes, divide by 15 (atmospere) and multiply by the boost plus atmosphere (ex: 4psi boost + 15psi atmospere = 19)

Take the IS300's 215hp, divide by 15 = 14.33. Multiply by the expected boost plus atmosphere (4 +15=19) and the new power should be around (14.33 x 19 = 272) 270hp plus or minus.

The reason the Buick supercharged engine is not higher is because the supercharged engine has a lower compression ratio than the non supercharged engine and without the supercharger would make LESS than the non supercharged engines 200hp.

There are MANY variables that effect performance. The above estimate is a good rule of thumb but not absolute. Cylinder efficiency, compressor efficiency, intercooling, timimg, exhaust flow capacity, etc, etc all are important factors. One thing is fairly certain. Adding a supercharger and running 4psi of boost will make MORE than 35hp gain on the IS300
