Question

Does anyone know why the e-shift starts in second gear?

On the GS it actually starts in first under hard acceleration even when you have E-shift in second. Under gentle acceleration it will start in second. If you have E-shift in second and the transmission believes it should be in first it will select first itself. This is the same way it acts if you have the trans in D.

You just can't force it into first with E-shift. The only way you can do that is with the gate shifter.

Cool E Shift

Thanks for the info. I am taking my car in next week to have the ECU replaced. Have you guys had any problems with that?

It does start in 1st gear, from a stop. All your doing is choosing a range of gears, not an individual gear. Thus when in "2" you have 1st and 2nd gear, and so on...
