Can u guys believe that a gsr beat a is300. Well the other day i raced my brother, he has a GSR (mods., short shifter, DC Sports 4-2-1 header, Apex N1 cat-back, AEM cold air intake), and all i can say is he beat me by a car. All i did was floor it, but i guess manual is better. Any advice on racing? Does the E-shift work better when racing?

my stick ran 14.9 bone stock, and i know i could have knocked another tenth off of that. i don't know any GSR's that have done that. ones with the mods you've listed usually run high 14's with a good driver, so if you are stock, you won't be able to run with him. if you have an intake setup and a rear section or a full cat back, it should be a much better race.
either way, you have a lexus, he has an integra

I was running at the drag strip a month ago. I got the same time as both modded GSR and a real stock Type-R. Get some mods, and you will give him a good race.

Real Times
Does anyone know a site or reference page to see what 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are for other stock rice rockets. I have a friend who insists that his stock 1992 Maxima will run LOW 14's and he would destroy my IS300 (2001) w/no mods, yet!) by 8 car length in the quarter.

Well i'm not sure about the actual 0-60 time for the 92 maxima, but edmunds says it has 160/190hp and 182tq. the maxima is actually lighter than the IS tho! 3285Ibs for the IS and 3129Ibs for the Maxima. Good luck if you do race him!

Thanks for your reply, Yeah he has an SE 5 speed 190 HP, says his is faster than the new Maxima with 222 HP. I found that page that I was looking for for comparison it is www.is300.net/compare.html if anyone is interested.

Dam that sux to loose to a GSR but all that means is you need more Mods .I had a 1995 gsr and it was slow stock 15.6 1/4 mile that was my best in full trim ,but after around 3 mods i cut off a good .7secs and then with full engine work ,Turbo and Nos i had one hell of a fast 422WHP Teg until the engine blew.As for a stock 1992 Maxima being faster then a IS300 or a new Maxima that is imposible cause i have raced alot of cars and never has a stock 1990-up Maxima even come close to beating me in my Supercharged Camry and i probably got as much WHP as a stock 5spd IS300.

The only stock Maxima capable of beating the IS300 off the line and in the 1/4 mile, is the 2002 model which has the new 3.5 liter 260 hp engine. Other than raw HP, the new Maxima does not even compare to the IS300. It is not even close in comparison to handling and cornering.

The SE with 5spd. has 190 hp with 1/4 times of 15.1 - 15.4. In 93 with a fresh engine. Max have some great V6 but a base Max is a slug... Tell your friend to bring it on!!! Talking never won a raced before.
The new max 2000 w/222hp will kick your ***. 1/4 = 14.9 sec. and the 255hp 3.5 liter is 14.4!!! Nissan makes a strong V6.
Also an Integra is an AWESOME Acura that deserves the props it gets. So, the most sporty baby Acura vs the most sport baby Lexus is a good rivalry IMO. Just buy a few more simple mods and race him again! Getting barely beat by an Acura is not a crime you know. Honda vs Toyota... That's basically what it is... You when some you lose some.

I was in a GS-R vs a IS300 (STKSKI's ride) and the only mad done to the GSR was an intake. STKSKI had an exhaust, 5zigen and nothing else. We gave the IS300 a half car lead on the starting light and we still took the IS300 to school... The owner of the GSR says he only has a intake.. But i think he has something up his sleeve..

The maxima shouldn't be under estemated the 92 ones are lighter than the new ones. the maxima is acutally about the same or maybe even a little fast (very little) faster than a gsr. I used to have a gsr and my friend had a maxima. we raced all the time. got fed up with 4 cylinders cause it doesn't have the over all poer. maxima look slow but it has decent speed to it.but it damn sure don't run low 14s. maybe down the hill. he should be happy if he can hit high 15s.
driving means a lot too. when i had a stock integra i beat another one with intake, headers, and muffler at the track.
