Default OEM spoiler install with pics

So my IS didn't come with a spoiler.... We can fix that

I made a template on the deck and whipped out the unibit. You may want to replace your normal ***** with some brass one's before you take a drill to your paint and body

gotta make a few extra holes to be able to access the mounting screws on the side.

It looks good. now take off that ugly CHMSL in the rear decklid.

edit: Replica rear spoiler huh? The red colored housing covering the LED are the giveaway.

there are no other clear lights anywhere on the car. the factory lens looks out of place to me so I made the choice for a red led insert.

Hmm thats odd. The factory OEM lip spoiler's LEDs are not the mini bulbs like you have? The lens covering the LED's is an obscure lens not transparent/see through. Also the LED lens on the factory OEM lip spoiler is not that wide, it measures just under 12" in width. The factory OEM spoiler is flat on the bottom edge which is a flush surface including the LED lens. The clear housing is barely noticable upclose or far away.

Here's my car next to MarkIS300's old Bluestone.

Heres an example of a OEM "style" spoiler that have the red lens covering the mini led bulbs and the ridges that border the LED lens on the bottom side of the lip:

Ps- there's no such thing as an led bulbs, it's one or the other (led or bulb). My strip is LED's.

The title is a little misleading since I just noticed your rear lip is OEM "style" with a light emitting diode CHMSL, not an OEM piece per se. Regardless, it was a clean install.

Has the drilling stopped yet!?!?! Let me know, can I look now?!?!?

That was more painful than a visit to the dentist !

Bulbs or LEDs, red lens or clear, ridges or no ridges....who cares.

The new spoiler looks awesome O.L.T....nice job! (painful to witness but nice!)

I agree, it takes a nice set of cahunas to take a drill to your car that way...unless you know exactly what you're doing with full confidence. Looks good.

I don't like the toyota spoiler at all. Every light on the car is round and red except the spoiler. I most definitely made an informed shopping decision to use this spoiler. I could have bought the toyota spoiler for $50 less. This was definitely worth it..... a subtle change for the better. They should have used this one.

I've drilled a few wings before on other cars like my old BMW. You gotta muck up and dive in. Using silicone to seal the holes from rust and such is the part that you don't wanna forget .
