Default Removing the Factory Headunit

Anyone know how to remove the factory head unit? I need to do so to get access the wires in the back to setup my amp. Thanks.

First on the top of the dash, you need to remove the cover by lifting it up from the front. Use a small and very thin flat bladed screw driver to do this. It will pop up at the front and then slide toward you. Under that panel are 2 screws. You need to remove them and that piece will slide forward. This piece is in really tight and be careful as the lip under the air vents connects to the top of the A/C controls. After you get that piece out, the bottom piece where you have the trac on-off switch will slide forward and yes it is also very tight. After that you will need to remove 4 10mm bolts that holds the A/C and the radio in place, 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom. Hope that helps you out. Remember, the factory amp is located in the passenger side above the kick panel behind the glove box. Good luck!!!
