Default Toyomoto Header For IS300..hp gains

well the 1st header has been installed and dynoed...the car was a 2001 auto completly stock is300......they unbolted the factory header and mid pipe and installed the Toyomoto header ..bone stock car dynoed 173rwhp....with just the header installed...NOTHING else the car made 188rwhp..thats 15rwhp with absolutyly nothing else done.......the car is gonna be testing the header for a few weeks to make sure everything is perfect before it goes on sale...but the price is looking to be in the 650 range...not too bad for 15rwhp....im working on getting a dyno graph to post...and it should have the before and after on the same graph so you see hp gains through the RPMS....if you have questions please ask...ill do what i can to answer correctly

with the stock exahust and stock intake it wasnt that much louder from what i heard....ill find out more...it does remove all the cats so it will be louder than stock...i can imagine with an intake...header....exahust...and an AFC or something to control fuel you could be at 200 rwhp n/a with bolt ons....not too bad at all in my opinion...it should definitly help the superchargers out there also..Jeff

Will the header be smog legal? You mentioned that the cats were taken out, i assume that 15 hp gain was without the cats on, r ight?

If the cats were taken out, it will not be smog legal.

Hello, new to this forum. I own the car with the header. By the way, its a 2001 auto. I was really impressed with the dyno results. Since it was installed on friday, I had the whole weekend to test it out for any problems, none so far. Lance made O2 simulators for me so I would not trip any check engine lights. The header bolted up very well, everything aligned, overall I'm very happy with it. Stock I dynoed 173.0/172.0. After the header, it pulled 189.4/188.2. So actually an increase of 16.4 hp and 16.2 tq. At idle the car is noticebly louder when the car is cold, but when it warms up, I really don't think it is much louder until I step on it. As far as performance, I feel the biggest difference at about 5,000 rpms. I raced my friend with an 02 manual with HKS hiper and intake. Pulled on him by 2 car lengths car length from 50-110. I will post a link with pictures and the dyno sheet soon.

Hi Joe,

Welcome to ClubLexus. Can you do a review on the headers for us. I'll post it in the review section for everyone to read it which I am sure will be beneficial to all.

If you need someone to put it all together just PM me and I can help you out.

Thanks,

Michael

this is another possibility........the mid pipe would have to be changed....but it willl bolt to the head.........so it is a very good possibility that it will be made to fit the GS300...and SC300..... Jeff

Question

The power gain for the headers is great.....but it sounds like it will be illegal in CA.....and, I'm trying to keep my car legal! I'll just have to wait and read up on the headers some more!

Default Room for SRT Intake?

I am planning on getting an SRT Intake, do u think the header will interfere with the Intake installation? I am concerned with clearance space from the header.
