Default Whats the deal with LSD?

hey can anyone give me any input on the deal with the limited slip differential.... my IS isn't equipped with one... when i purchased my IS, i inquired about it before finalizing the deal with my deal ( who owns an 'o2 IS) he told me that its not that necessary, that not too many IS's come in with it, so if i wanted it i'll have to put in a special order and wait the 4 months for my car to come in. He also said he wasnt too happy with that option and told me that it tends to takes the controls away from the driver and automatically slows the car down whenever you're making a turn or something. So i didnt select it figuring that it'll save me a few hundred bucks. Should i regret not buying that option? whats the benefits of it, is it an option that boosts speed? I see a few members here have it. Fill me in somebody, Thanx steve

LSD both rear wheels have an equal amount of power.. like a posi type rear... it is the most useful at HIgh power applications.. and good for traction... stock it is cool to have but not necessary at the power we run

i dont think your dealer wants to do paperwork, the LSD only stops the loss of traction from one or both driving wheels,i think your dealer dos'nt even know what he's selling,it is a good feature to have, especially if you have mixed weather patterns like we have here in europe when the condition of the road surface can change from wet to dry regular

unless you are gonna race your car I would not even worry about it man.... the after market LSD's are not cheap and it seems to me that you wont need one..
