Question UK - IS200 - Is this noise normal

Hi

first post - been lurking for a while - but have finally gotten round to registering.

Got my IS 200 - I'm in the UK - a few weeks ago.

SE , 17 in rims, the new sat nav system - very happy with it - came from a <ahem> Renault before - leap in class is not the phrase.

I have a question though - when I start the car, and pull away - there is a slight clunk type noise from the rear of the car.

It only happens the once - can then drive for hours, stop / start - and no noise.

But if I turn the engine off - on again and pull away - theres the noise.

Its not a horrible 'oh dear! what was that' type noise - but it is noticeable - seems strange on a car that is so quiet normally as well (until you go over 4000 revs )

Does anybody have any idea what this is? Does it happen on your car?

Like I said - no too concerned - don't think its anything broken - if anything I reckon it is some piece of gadgetry starting up - but would really like to know WHAT it is.

Thanks guys - lovebeing in THIS club!

The guys here at Clublexus are the best. There is a lot of knowledge here.

If you are ever in The Netherlands, tell me, maybe we could meet up. Would be cool!!

Can't rule that out - I may be signing up a client in Holland (I run an IT consultancy) - still just swapping emails at the moment.

would have no problem finding you either - the new sat nav is DVD based - so works in Europe too - a friend just back from Garda in Italy - and we plotted a course to his hotel with it!

R34, good choice. I hate Nissan for nat making a LHD and Importing them to mainland Europe.

When did you plan to go to Essen??
