When I got my IS300, the holes were already covered. I guess they gave me an option to put the front license or not. I decided not to....
The best way to do it is to fill it up with putty (i don't know about the spelling) and paint it. But if you know someone that works in body and paint shop, let them do it. I doesn't cost too much anyways and it will look a lot back cuz they will paint it with a few layers, buff it, and a top coat (clear finish)...

hope this helps.

I used these black stickers made of plastic used to cover screw holes on office furniture. I just had them laying around so i stuck them on and they look good and clean like they belong there, and my car is black so it doesnt stand out, plus they are smaller than a dime, and they didnt come off when i washed the car. I guess try looking at home depot or an office furniture store who knows maybe you will get lucky.

Try this site out: www.bumperplugs.com

They sell them for Porsches' but I've spoken to the guy selling them and he says they'll fit the IS. Personally I've left the holes in mine. They're not noticeable unless you're standing right in front of the bumper, plus they give you an excuse when you get pulled over. You can always say that you're waiting for some screws you ordered attach your license plate. If you fill in the holes, the cop will give you a ticket no matter what you say...

Those plugs look great! I like the stickers i have because they fit flat to the bumper but i might get a pair of those plugs if they fit the IS to get a perfect color match.

Just through the front plate in the trunk and tell the officer someone stole the frame. tell him the plate is in the trunk then ask if you can just put it in the front window it should slide in-between the glass and the dash.

When I bought my 02' IS, they made me sign a paper stating that I did not want the front-plate installed. I have no holes drilled, nothing. I actually have had my car since August 3rd or something and I still havent put my plates on heh. They are in my glovebox should something come up where I need to.
