Default Thinking about getting these wheels..input appreciated.

EDIT: So after thiking about it, I found these and I like them better. Very similar style but in hyper black with a machined lip. I didnt like the riveted look of the Diamo's much either.

...and a crude photoshop of them on the car.

Below are the ones I was originally thinking about and my original post.

Hey all,
Thinking about getting these.I was thinking about going 19" on them. What do you all think? Too much chrome?

This is a sloppy Photoshop of the wheels on the car. Couldnt find any pics of the wheel to come any closer to pics I have of the car....and doesnt show the nickel plated rotors or red calipers either.

This is stock.

They look good. I personally don't prefer chrome wheels, but these look ok to me.

If you are going with 19''s, make sure your getting the right offset, tire size.

Here is a wheel fitment guide from IS.net:
http://my.is/forums/showthread.php?t...+fitment+guide

Also, try to consider the amount of drop if you planning to lower later down the road.

Thanks for that link, Carbon.

Yeah I think I've changed my mind. A little too much bling. They look good, but take away from the sport tuner look.

The wheel I'm going with is the 18" Katana ZR5 in hyper black with an offset of 40. I may drop it an inch later and I dont want to have to worry about 19's rubbing.

Here's a pic:
http://www.kxwheels.com/viewPhoto.cf.../zr5_hyper.JPG

So now my question is this... If my stock tires are 215/45 ZR17's, what size tire do I use with an 18" wheel and still have the same overall size (tire and wheel together) as the stock setting, so I dont have to recalibrate the speedometer, etc.?

225/40-18 is the closest; just slightly larger

Thanks for the info. Will the difference affect speedometer, GPS, etc. by much?

Btoork I just mounted Pirelli P-Zero Nero's 225/40 -18 on my car and they are awesome. Great tire. I notice that my traction light does not come on as much. Heres a pic of them on my TSW Montage in Gloss Black. If you want a full car shot to see where your wheels will sit (I dont have a drop YET either), PM me?

I think I saw the shots on your other post. They look great. Did you have to recalibrate your speedometer? And did it affect your GPS if you have it?

Other people might disagree but the diameter of the aftermarket wheel vs. the stock wheel does not change. I went a larger wheel (18'') but I have a lower profile tire compared to stock. Therefore the diameter stays the same. Hope that made sense. Because of that I believe no recaliberation is needed. Has not seemed to affect my GPS at all either. BTW I think we have the same color car, urs a 04' too? Great looking cars!!!!!!!

On 225/40 18's the difference is negligible.
