Yes it is the HKS supra. And the 2000 hp car was featured in an article in hot rod mag posted by Madmkiv in the supra forums. Food for thought; Toyota or TRD has already designed and built a 5.7 liter 32 valve double overhead cam engine making 900 hp without turbos or superchargers. It is too in the supraforums. This motor is based off of the tundra motor which is based of of Lexus's 1uz v8 motor.

 

sorry guys I kinda mis posted the facts in my las post. got the two motors mixed up. Here is the correct one. TRD built a 5.7 liter 32 valve motor making 500 hp all motor, was the claimed hp thus far, but 600 hp in the future is possible. This was done without a supercharger or turbos.

 

I saw some guy just two weeks ago with a Toyota pick-up, and clearly it had a nasty V-8 under the hood, he was all low key with just a small TRD sticker on the back of the truck.

The motor sounded like a V-8 for sure, he was having problems though with rough idling or something, cause it was kinda jerky in acceleration..

 

Sounds like he may have fuel problems. If anyone with sc400s, Ls400s is interested, there is a bolt on twin turbo kit for those cars that would allow it to dyno around 360 hp at the wheels or about 420 at the crank on the stock block, I believe. Don't remember what company it is, but if anyone is interested I'll look for it and post it for ya. It was pretty cool!

 

Does anyone know if the IS430 is going to come out in the states.. I'm pretty sure they'll bring it down here. I HOPE SO!!!

No it's not coming. Right now it's simply an aftermarket car produced by german company. If it were to come out, it probably wouldn't until 2004 after they have tested the engine in the car.

Why do you say you're pretty sure they will bring it down here? You're in AZ, I wouldn't exactly call that down.

 

if you are impressed from 600 hp all motor then you need to get in tune with some domestic cars... 600hp all motor on a 351w 4 cam ford motor is easy..let alone a big block

Those pictures you posted of the 430 are only a proto-type. The car isn't actually being built right now. The guy that did my aftermarket exhaust, etc... just visited Germany 2 weeks ago. The main purpose of his visit was to get the 430 engine running (this is the first time it has been started). Now he said that an aftermarket company is building the 430, not lexus, meaning that you will have to go through a middle man to get the car.

The reason the car has 400 horse-power is because the car is running on a modified LS400 engine (yes that's right). He said they literally took a LS engine out, did some modifications to fit under the IS hood, and started it up (with many hours of long labour).

I'm sorry to put a damper on the hype but I thought I would just let everyone know.

There is good news though, the wheels that are on that car are customly designed 19inch rims. THEY ARE AVAILABLE!! Unfortunatley I know the guy that can order them, and from my understanding, he is the only guy that can get them over here. He said they will run around 400 a piece.

I have talked to the people from TTE about this car and it's not a LS400 engine, its a 430 engine from the new LS and/or GS with a Supercharger.

 

and the engine has been running for months...........

the wheels are now available but to my understanding from my friend at TTE only from TTE.

TTE have told me that the only way they will put this engine into a car now is if a customer was to pay them to......at the moment all developement has been putting the SUPERCHARGED 430 engine into a is200(loom matching)

there is a company in the UK that is building IS430 to order you have to provide them with the car..........

and you will be returnred with a is430 N/A with 6 speed manual,the TTE is430 is an auto

 

LOL ship the car to the UK for the 430 with 6 speed and then go to Germany to get a TTE SC for it.
