Lexus is stupid to use that V8. A 4.3L motor that can't even put out 90HP/Litre naturally aspirated is pathetic, especially coming from a company with such great performance heritage. Superchargers are for children. Turbos are where it's at.
I'd also like to point out that with LOW boosting turbos and a 4.0L engine, Audi made a 444BHP V8 for the RS6. Oh, and the Audi makes more peak torque than the IS430 and produces 80% torque somewhere around 2000RPM. The Lexus V8 is utter *****. The japanese can make a great I4 and I6, but they still haven't figured the V8 out yet.
Lexus is trying to be Mercedes Benz, instead of being Lexus. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The 2JZGTE is the best motor that toyota has ever made. EVER. As you all know, the 2JZGE is what powers the IS300. All lexus needed to do to whup on the M3 was drop in the 2JZGTE with a more aggressive tuning map and ball bearing twins instead of the oil bearing twins the supra used, and they'd be able to make 400HP easy. I made 424RWHP (that's hp at the drive wheels, not the crank) with the stock oil bearing twins with exhaust, intake, cam and ignition/fuel map mods, so it is very possible to put the smackdown on the IS430 with a 2JZ. Don't forget that the 2JZGTE is lighter too... Lexus screwed the pooch on this one.

By the way, the 430 engine is lighter then the 2JZ-GTE.
