How is it that the engine is lighter than the IS200 engine? That doesn't sound right to me. You would think that at the very least you'd gain 200 pounds (roughly 90 kg). What did they do to make the engine so light?

how much clearer do you need it.................

the IS200 engine has a cast iron block the IS430 uses a light alloy block'

both use alloy heads, cast iron is much heavier than aluminum, this is not something that im just pulling out my ****,this is the infomation i was given by TTE,at the essen motorshow

Default IS 430

Since the car will not come into production, how much do you think it would cost to convert a 300 into that? And what parts would you need?
Thanks alot

It's a V8 first of all so you need to drop a V8 engine in there. (Though personally, I'd rather drop a Supra engine and turbo it.) Then in order to achieve that kind of hp, you are looking at least stage II supercharger and up.

The material of V8 and SC costs greater or equal to 10G and you need someone to do the installation. You can calculate the cost.

why wouldn't the IS430 comes the production? with M3 skyrocketing the high performance compact sales, i see no reason why Lexus shoudln't bring this vehicle to competition??

The IS430 needs approval from Toyota headquarters and since they are verry bussy with the F1, this is not a priority.
At least that is what I understood from the guys at TTE.

Why did they put a 430 engine in there instead of a supra one??
The 430 is very, very light. lighter even than an IS200 engine.

the biggest difficulty with this car at the momet is.........that Toyota Corp will not release new body shells and running gear to TTE for a build up at TTE,secondly the only way that this car will see limited production is through TTE other idea of a IS200 conversion,(e.g.my IS200 GOES IN/4 WEEKS LATER DRIVE OUT)

the propossed cost of this conversion is around 100,000dm at the momet however these costs will fall as numbers of conversions are found

The other slant we should look at this car from, and yet no one seems to see it is the future, everyone keeps bleeting on about it can compete with this/that/whatever.

we all know that the IS200/300/ALTEZZA is being remodelled in approx 2004,when is the best time to start developin the M3 Beater.................NOW

the design concept of this IS430 is for test and development for all future IS200/300models,as is the fact that all future lexus cars will use 'V' motors and not inline 6,and b4 anyone doubts the origine of my infomation ,its all come from TTE,from one route or another, with a little lateral thinking.

of which im sure Richie will vouch for

infact richie if i supply that 430 motor we have found it will be a dam sight cheaper(aswell as the taxfree )
