Default 45k my a$$

How is that car gonna be 45k when the GS430 is like 60k? Keep dreaming about 45k. That car will be at least 65-70k. M3's are 10 times more pimp.

You know that the car is going to be more than 45k. Not much I doubt though. For example the IS300, is about 10k less than the an equilvant 330ci. If they do come out with a IS 430 they are going to have to redo the suspension and make it much stiffer. If Lexus wants to compete with a M3, they will have to give it similar equipment, and I'm guessing that will be more than 45k but less than 55k (like a M3).

Default eortiz..

In reply to that really silly post about the IS430 running with a 550 Maranello, you were kidding right? Similar HP doesn't mean similar speeds or performance neccesarily. Get real.

As for the rest of this nonsense. That car won't be anything near 45k. Forget it.

Someone posted that the M3 or M5 can't get below 5 seconds on 0-60. HUH? 4.7 stock M3. 4.8 Stock M5. M3 costs about 20k less(at least) than the IS430 will. WIth that extra 20k, just think of the mods. Hamann has a V12 for the M3. Oooh! And M3's and 5's still look 10 times hotter.

Someone please get one of these so I can watch you disappear in my rearview.

Default M3 MSRP

Don't know where you got your info. on the M3, but MSRP on it surely isn't 55k. I just got mine fully equipped(SMG II--what's Lexus got on the F1 style transmission? Nothing) for 53k with shipping to my crib.

MSRP is 45k.

Alright so I was off by 2k. I'm sure that it depends on where in the country you live. My boss has a '97 M3, and he looked into getting a '02, and was told by the BMW dealer that it would cost him 62k and that it would take 6 months to take delivery. It's all dependant upon suppy and demand, and right now the demand is way higher than the suppy.

I doubt you have seen the performance figures, I have and they are in the 550's territory.
Please read the whole post before you respond.

The car will most likely not be produced. There is only one at the moment and that one will cost $90.000 to duplicate. That's what TTE, the guys who made it said.

Hamann has a V12 for the M3. Oooh! And M3's and 5's still look 10 times hotter.
The Hamann isn't an alternative, it is a limited production in celebration of 10 years Hamann and it will cost $250.000. I call that overpriced.

Someone please get one of these so I can watch you disappear in my rearview.
If you drive a stock E46 M3 you stand no chance if you would race a IS430 compressor. The race itself is very unlikely since there is only one and it's at TTE in Germany.

Rice will never be as nice as German Godlike Engineering.
At least the Lexus won't be at the Dealer as much for reliability issues.

May I ask what your problem is?
Why are you flaming on this site?

Default What's my problem?

I hate rice! And one of your cronies came onto one of the Bimmer sites flamin' so I'm returning the favor.

IS430 doesn't compete with 550. Sorry.

Exactly. 90k to produce. Hmm. Of course if I drove a stock M3, I couldn't compete with the 90k IS430. That's like saying if I drove a stock Civic-Si, I couldn't compete with a stock M3. 35k$ difference. I could take that 35k and do what mods to my M3? As for the V12, who said it had to be Hamann? I just stated they made one. But, I don't need a V12. Or the Hartge V8 for that matter. With that extra 35k, the mods would be ridiculous on this Ultimate Inline 6. They will be anyways, soon enough.

As for the Bimmer being at the dealer for reliablity issues, haven't had any problems. Also, those are things that come with such high performance cars. And the people that own them are more **** than they should be because they're afraid.

Gentlemen, let's watch the flaming. Feel free to state your opinions, but let's not get personal. For those of you reading the many posts, take them for what they are, "opinions".

Remember that this is still a private website. Therefore we can restrict access to anyone.

Thanx!

I was pricing the conversion at $45K (100,000 DM), not including the cost of the car...

This car won't be built as a production vehicle, IMO, but if it was, it would definitely be $55K+ (probably $60K+).

Read the entire thread the next time, and maybe you can follow it...

The guys at TTE told me that IF they would be able to get the green light for the (limited) production of this car the price for the production IS430 compressor would be 140.000 dm. That's roughly between 60 and 70k American dollars.

That's a big IF as you can see!!

i can assure you this car is real,if you look back through this thread you will find pics of the engine.............

on a further note,

a lexus dealership in the UK is in part sponsership with a major race team to build the IS430,without supercharger,it uses a manual box and kicks out 350bhp,i am awaiting prices of this conversion....(which is only for the IS200)

With this cars 350 bhp then put the TTE compressor on from there IS430,you should get more bhp than the TTE IS430 COMPRESSOR,the engine in the TTE car has not been tuned, that much.........

hopefully the prices will be around the £20,000 mark
