The SC looks awesome from the side - like an arrow. I love it even if I am more of an Audi guy.
The rear is OK - I like more the Audi A4 Avant from the back
For utility the SC is great - I can haul stuff from Home Depot - carry my tools everywhere. Need to load a bigger item - do it thru the hatch.
Plus - it's a pretty good ride. I drift, take fast turns. Awesome.
So i'd say - forget is a wagon - it is a sports car with utility. More like an SAV - Sports Activity Vehicle.
Dont worry about the stigma - when you turbocharge it - you can leave mustangs in the dust - straight line and twisties.

The IS Sportcross is a good vehicle and I helped a co-worker get one and she's real happy with it. It would be so cool if Lexus brought out a second generation IS 350 Sportcross. I know the first Sportcross did not sell much but it would be nice to have as part of the IS model line-up...

to answer your question, yes 90% of upgrades for the sedan fit the SportX. The biggest thing is fewer spoilers (personally like the stock one myself) and the rear bumper is what you are stuck with unless you go custom like TWSTD.
Past that intake, exhaust, wheels, body parts, interior. All the same.
