lol... if you don't know how a turbo kit works or affects your motor, DO NOT BOOST YOUR CAR!!!!

if you don't want to listen to me, at least make sure to buy a beater car so when your turbo IS is having problems, you won't be stranded.

btw.. go with SRT since you live in the northeast.

do ALOT of research! ALOT OF RESEARCH! boosting a NA car isn't as easy as slapping on an intake. there are alot of variables and if you don't have a clue, then you will be in way over your head.

if a basic kit runs 5,000... you best have at least 10K budgeted.

I wouldn't say do not boost your ride if you don't know, But I would agree with do alot of research and learn about it all first. If your gonna pay someone to install it for you, then you end up paying them to make all the adjustments, and chasing all the little things down for you. And if you don't pay attention to all the little things, they grow into big things really fast.
By the way, use the AEM fic. Some will argue with me about this, but it is by far the best fm system to come out yet so far, easy to learn and tune yourself, very powerful system, and lets your Vvti do it's thing. I have the Turbonetics set up with a Greddy digital boost controller. Just sell the Unichip and get the AEM fic. Also you'll need to upgrade to atleast 440 cc injectors, 600cc injectors are better though. And get a Walbro 255 fuel pump, and a comptition head gasket and ARP head bolts to just keep it safer. Go to My.IS and read everything ou can in the Go Faster forum. They have a Boost bible sticker there. Read up on all the tips, how too, and different set ups.
The SRT is a good system, spool up is alot longer than the turbonetics though. But remember, if your boosting stock internals, then you can only boost to about 400 rwhp anyway. Anything over that and your not gonna last very long at all. And you'll need tranny work also. So keep it to 350-400 max. Which is only about 10 psi of boost. If you want to make big numbers, and do the drivetrain also, then the SRT is a better set up. But if you want to have a super fast spool up, and keep the hp limited, then the Turbonetics kit is actually a very nice kit for 4K.

I would reccomend a turnkey solution to someone with limited knowledge. While I dont have any first hand experience with SRT, I have never met anyone that was happy with the length of time they took to work on there car. We are litterally talking months and months.

Just an FYI

And then I always ask whats the point of spending 10K to only boost at 350-400hp? I figure if you are going to spend that kind of money you may as well be prepared to get the most for your money in terms of hp
