Default Traction Off Button on 1st-gen is300

i have a 03 is300 5-speed w/ lsd. the snow button works w/ no issues but the traction button will not. I checked the wires, theyre fine, but couldnt locate a fuse (if there is one) to try to change. Anyone have any ideas or simmilar problems? id love to fix this so i can turn off that traction control!

is the trac off light blinking??? or just not showing up on the dash at all? at the same time my check engine light came on the trac off dash light started blinking, im assuming indicating that feature wasnt working anymore, and it felt like that when youd get in the throttle. i had the code checked, it was a cyl 1 misfire from leaving the car running and taking the gas cap off to fuel. they cleared the code out and both lights went back to normal and my trac control options worked again

id try unhooking your batt to reset your ecu or whatever it clears out, im not that knowledgable on those terms but that worked for my trac control issue. Just leave it unhooked for like 15min at least so it can reset, i usually have left mine unhooked for like 45-1hr when clearing codes just to be safe. its worth a shot and doesnt take much time/work.

^^^^Exactly what he said. Just unplug the neg battery terminal for 15min. The ecu will reset itself. It then relearns itself. MPG will be a little higher and shifting will be smoother, if you WOT alot.

There was another site which stated that you can reset your ECU by
first removing the (-) terminal, step on the brake 10x, wait 10 min., then
step on the brake 10 more times. Will this reset the ECU as well?

Thanks.

All you need to do disconnect the battery for 30sec to reset the ECU according to my tech buddy at the Lexus dealer.
