Default Loaning the IS300 for another three (3) days.

Well, after test driving the IS300 Auto for last two days, here are my impressions:

1) It is kinda ugly from an angle
2) Not as fast as I would assume or liked
3) Not responsive at times. Today, some repair man began swerving into my lane, and I slammed the pedal to get by him, only to hear the engine roar.
4) NO ARMREST!!! Drove me NUTS!
5) I love the 4 DOORS! I probably will never drive a 2-door car.
6) People do like to race against IS300.
7) Hate the shifting thingies on the steering wheel. Why couldn't the right thumb button shift up and the left thumb button shift down? My hands aren't that big enough to FULLY grip both the up and down button comfortable.
8) Um...I will take it for a cruise tonight to check out the top end speed.

It sounds as if you're expecting a racecar. One thing though you were driving the 01. Nearly everyone hates the lack of an armrest in the 01, which is why Lexus added it to 02.

The problem with the engine roaring could have been the Trac/ECU problem that was fixed awhlie ago.

The reason that they didn't make it so that one hand shifts up and the other hand shifts down is that when you start to really turn the wheel it would get confusing. Imagine going on a seriously twisted road and turning the wheel 1.2 revolutions and then trying to shift. YOu'll have to think about using your right hand (or left depening on the turn) to down shift. It just doesn't make sense. Now what they could have done is add a paddle behind the steering wheel, but more than likely Porcshe has a patient on it.

We have all noted the lack of power, but you can only ask for so much for the $. The suspension in the car more than makes up for the lack of power. At least it does for me.

After thinking about it, you do have REALLY small hands. My girlfriend who's 5'6 can use the buttons without a problem.
