New here! Thinking of getting IS300.
Hello!
I have a 2000 VW Jetta now and was looking to trade it in 4 an IS300. The IS, is the Slickest car on the road IMO. I love these cars!
Any how... I was wonering how tuner friendly these car are. What are some 1/4 mile times for a medium modified Is...ex: chip intake, exhaustand other goodies.
Also does anyone have pics of the interior lit up at night? Interested in seeing the light scheme. I did a search and found nuttin!
LOVE your cars

I would wait until fall before buying an IS300. Reason why is they are coming out with the AWD(All-Wheel Drive) version.
They are nice cars and even more fun when modded.....Companies are now coming out with products for the IS300 like prolexperformance, SRT, Weapon-R, Area 51, Toyomoto, Powerhouse Racing and I am sure many more.
Timeslips I've seen are from 12's to 15's depending on the type of mod's. Expect to pay more than 5 grand to get into the 13's.

AS Mkilty said, yeah these cars are EXPENSIVE to mod. 1 being that they're "Lexus" so tuners charge more for the parts, and 2, the ODBII compliant ECU is a real pain for tuners. If you have a few grand to blow, you can put on a fair amount of bolt on parts, but if you want to go w/ forced induction look to spend $5 grand minimum for a stage 1 supercharger, and upwards of $10k for a stage 1.5-2 turbocharger.
Currently, there are no do-it-yourself kits on the market, but that will change shortly I am sure, as tuners like Area51, Toyomoto, and SRT perfect their respective kits.
I HIGHLY suggest that you test drive an IS300, and drive it HARD. When i was shopping for a new car I had the most fun driving the IS300. Sure, it's got its quirks, but what car doesn't. I'd take this for the sheer fun of it over a BMW 3-series any day!
