noise when brake backing up
k couple of things i could use some info first off i just bought an 2002 is300 and it has 46k miles on it when i go to thro it in reverse it will sometimes not let me go into reverse unless i switch thru a couple gears first than after i do back and when i step on the breaks i get a little popping noise when i hit the brakes any suggestions?

You are talking about a manual transmission, right? If so, that's pretty common partly because reverse is not synchronized, so it's a little tougher to shift into it. If you have an automatic trans, it's a problem.
The popping could be the brake pads shifting a little. My 1GS does that and I had it checked out. The pads pop when you apply the brakes in reverse and pop again the first time I use them going forward. I had it checked out by a mechanic and he verified the cause. You should get your car checked out just to be safe.
