Default Knocking noise near front wheel

Hello,

My IS300 (2002) has developed an intermittent knocking noise near the wheel. Its usually a single knock rather than 'tapping'
It happens mostly when driving slowly (10-20 mph) on rough roads.
It also become more frequent when the roads are wet.
It has me puzzled. I brought it to a garage but they didn't do anything to fix it.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

it could be a bad wheel bearing, i had one of those it started out as an every now again thing then completely went away then came back with vengeance lol. but i still had the car under warranty so i didnt cost me anything. but if you havent already try getting that checked out. hope it helps

I figured for a wheel bearing as well, but it is possible that one of the pistons in the caliper is hanging a bit. This happened to me and I had to replace it. Dealer wanted $450 for the part and I found a company called Cardone in Jersey that made a refurb caliper for $60. You will need to purchase via a distributor if it is the caliper.
