Default I need some help: Homelink

ok, so i have homelink in my 02 is300. ive had it before and didnt have any problems with the coding.

i heald down the first and 3rd buttons till they flash
then i press button 1 and hit my garage door opener remote

nuthin

then what i did is had someone push the homelink button while i pressed the learn button on the garage door opener machine

that worked.

so, your homelink works but your garage door opener remote doesn't ... im not sure i get the problem ... you can open the door via the buttons on the visor yea?

yes, the problem is im not the only one who parks in there. and the only way i got homelink to work was to force the garage door opener to accept the homelink signal...instead of the traditional way of having the homelink assume the code set of the remot.

FIXED!
heres how

ok so when programing a fresh homelink hold the 1st and 3rd buttons down until they blink then let go. then goto your garage door unit and there will be a learn button, press it....then go back to the car(within 30 sec) and press the button you want to use.

poof!
it works
