Same engine, not vvti for the 300. Which one would you choose? The price difference isn't much. I'm not performance geared. Just want a luxurious smooth dd.

I have a IS300 and love it, I think the ride is fine some think it is firm and the IS300 is very nimble. I have test driven a SC300 and a SC400, I love the looks of the SC, has a nice luxurious ride, but it is not as nimble, really dosn't like fast back road driving like the IS300 does. Also to me the IS300 feels faster. So if more of a luxury ride and crusing is your goal, get a SC400, to get the smooth torque of the V8, put some nice rims on it and I think you will be happy with this nice Lexus coupe.

I've had both 1st and 2nd gen IS's.
I have never driven an SC300, but sure it drives like a smooth Lexus. The mention of it being more cruiser is surely true. The 1st IS is more of a younger person's car to me, whereas that SC300 can go both ways.
SC300, even though I have not driven one

either one is a great choice, i feel that the IS250 is a girls car for some reason maybe its because i know a lot of girls that drive them? but then again i know a lot of chicks that drive the IS300 as well, so i guess the IS300 is a girls car too haha

i actually looked at both cars before deciding on the IS. the SC is nice, but you can tell its a little heavier and in my opinion not as nimble as the IS. Performance wise, they both have the same potential. but i agree with cherplex in saying the SC is more of a cruiser than the IS. im actually glad i went with the IS, i think it was the right choice for me.
