Hi guys,

I have a GS and looking to add an IS to the stable. I was wondering if you guys can help me out. Can someone with a 2001 model IS tell me if the IS has a Latch system in place for child car seats. They are little loops bolted or welded into the frame to hook up car seats. They should be 4 loops, 2 on each seat behind the driver and passenger and are found between the top and bottom portion of the back seats. There is usually a little button looking thing with the imprint of a child seat on it. Thanks

i put my cAR seat in the middle but the seatbelt isnt a lap belt. its a shoulder belt, but my car seat has a place to hook it in

Sorry, what year is your IS300? The reason I picked 2001 is if the 01 has it, then the rest of the years should have it it as well. Thanks.

So you use the seat belt to hook up your car seat? So is it safe to assume the 2001 does not come with the latch system?

yeah i use the seatbelt, im assuming so unless im missing something. but i only see 3 shoulder belts in the rear.

It is actually in between the top and lower parts of the back seats. I think there was a law saying all cars build after Sept 2002 must have them, but Lexus may have phased them in earlier. Can someone stick their hand between the seats and check? Thanks.

IF anyone is interested, here is some info on it. It was designed for the better anchoring of child seats in case of a crash. Good stuff to know for those with kids
