You can do a search on how to paint the rims. But of all the DIY instructions the one extra step I took to make them shine is to color sand the clear coat. I painted, then used the Duplicolor Wheel Coating Clear.

After the clear has cured completely, I color/wet sanded the wheels. Basically take 2000 grit wetsand paper, get some soapy water to keep the surface wet. Sand the surface so that finish is uniformly hazy. Be careful not to sand too much. On some of the edges of the spokes I sanded all the way to the metal, which you don't want to do. Its a ***** to touch up esp when you're impatient like me.

Get a good polish compound and buff the clear to and nice glossy shine. You can do it by hand, which I did for a couple of the wheels, but it gets very tiring. So I ended up buy the Mother's Power Cone and it cuts the time enormously.
