Wheel fitment ???'s
I just bought a 02 IS, looking at adding new wheels, but am concerned they will not fit.
18x8 front 39 offset
18x9 rear 35 offset
Also wanted to know how low I could go with this set up.
Any help will be great, Thanks

My wheels are 18x8/9 +38 with 225/40/18 & 235/40/18.
Front fender mods:
-Rolled flat/no pull
-Liner was heated and stretched, but the guy who rolled it cut out ~1.5" wide strip of liner running parallel with the fender.
-At this ride height, my fronts would rub on turns with a bump before the roll.
Rear Mods:
-Fender shaved to 3/8" from the side molding to the bumper
-Shaved the area where the bumper screws into the fender.
-Plastic liner heated and flattened
Spring Rates:
12F
10R

Bumper tab heated and rolled flat
This is with my old coilovers with 8kg springs in back
Misc:
-Make sure you sand bare metal smooth and paint it. I also used a rubberized undercoat along the rear fender.
-When tucking tire in back, I have about 1/4"(~6mm) of space between the fender and tire.
-Pick tires with a rounder sidewall for more clearance. My buddy has Kuhmos, and we noticed that his sidewalls are noticeably taller/square even though we have the same size & width wheels and tires in front.
-I used an angle grinder on the rear fender, and a dremel by the bumper bracket.

it will fit, BUT you can not run 245/40 series tires without modding the fenders. trust me, I just got rid of a set with the same offset because of the rubbing. ate up my new tires within 50 miles cuz of the squatting my car was doing under boost =) I'd recommend using 235/40s but what's the point of getting 9"wides when you're only running 8.5" wide tires?
