first, i want to say thanks to all who are not being negative. i know i ****ed up. but for those who want to wish evil apon me are *******s.
second, i have been going through a lot lately. not going to go into it but i don't know how much lower i can get. might as well just build my coffin.
third, on the ticket for violation it states "23109 (a) vc - speed contest w/ misdemeanor circled". it states my speed later down as 120+ but doesn't state any other codes

Man atleast there was no wreck or anybody hurt. We all have made mistakes and when I was your age I was doing much worse so dont feel so bad just learn from it. Each day is an opportunity to learn and progress ourselves.

I'm not going to give you a hard time about it. We've all done stupid things, all I would say is I hope you learned something (though I'm not going to specify what I hoped you would have learned here).
Advice: you might consider changing the OP to leave out the speed, some po-deptartments do watch the more popular forums (& this is one of the more popular forums out there). Note, changing the OP may not help you if some1 against you has already printed the pages.
Question: were you doing said high speed on a regular road way? or on a highway of some sort?

it was on the I-8 freeway in san diego, ca.
did some research on the code and street contest penalty for the first time.
the maximum penalty for taking part in speed contest is:
1. a $1,000 fine;
2. 90 days in jail;
3. a six month license suspension; and
4. having your car impounded for 30 days. (about 2.5-3k)

You're 18. Get in your car you paid for and leave. Time to fly. Be a big boy and get out of the house, live independently.
*flashback* () When I was a boy...... () when you got within a few months of your 18th birthday your parents persuaded you to "start looking" for a place to live.
Now that was the kick *** 80's/early 90's where people could function on their own without a support group and a double shot mocha latte, but still...... hit the road man and get going or live under their rules and their roof. Those are the choices.

Ok it was on the freeway, still very stupid, but at least not on a city street. my advice, first erase that youtube video of you doing donuts, that can come back big time to haunt you, and any other stupid stuff you might have posted. Suck it up big time, have the parents park the car, go out and get a full time job, or two part time jobs, and just work, eat, sleep etc.. and be a saint all summer, when your parents see your commitment, you have a chance to get the car back in the fall. good luck!

you are extremely lucky. if you lived here in colorado springs. they impound the car and the local fire department uses it for fire training purposes.
just be glad you didnt crash or worse.
